About the role
Lead the Training & Checking function for Fixed Wing operations at QGAir, ensuring the highest standards of pilot proficiency, safety and operational capability. You will advise senior leadership, drive continuous improvement across flight operations, and also support frontline flying missions for critical government tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of the Fixed Wing training programme.
- Maintain currency and proficiency standards in line with QGAir and CASA requirements.
- Conduct licence and rating issue or renewal support, including checks and assessments.
- Provide technical advice to senior leadership and contribute to the development of flight standards, procedures and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Participate in frontline flying operations as required to support critical government missions.
Required profile
- Current Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi‑Engine Flight Instructor Rating (FER).
- Multi‑Engine Command Instrument Rating – 4 renewals.
- Minimum 5,000 total flight hours, including 4,000 PIC, 200 night PIC, 1,000 Multi‑Engine PIC and 1,000 Turbine PIC.
- Recent Fixed Wing single‑pilot experience (within the last 2 years).
- Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and a current Class 1 Aviation Medical.
- Australian passport.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment psychological assessment and compliance with CASA drug and alcohol management requirements.
