Handy Person – Maintenance & Facilities Role

About the role

Join Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach as a Handy Person, delivering preventative and reactive maintenance across guest rooms, hotel facilities, and the swimming pool. You will ensure the property runs smoothly while providing a high‑standard guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks in guestrooms and public areas.
• Manage swimming pool operations, including chemistry readings and filter backwashing.
• Carry out electrical duties such as light‑bulb replacement and Vingcard/Elsafe lock programming.
• Assist with water‑treatment chemical monitoring, dosage, and plant‑room upkeep.
• Isolate and de‑isolate smoke detectors as required.
• Execute painting, minor finishing, and other handyman tasks.
• Log and resolve work orders using the TRITON works management system.
• Support the maintenance team with additional duties as directed.

Required profile

• Hands‑on approach with pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently on afternoon and weekend shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Comfortable handling chemicals, tools, and mechanical systems.
• Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent hands‑on experience (preferred).
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
