Front Office Team Leader

About the role

Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, a tropical resort in Cairns owned by Accor, is looking for a Front Office Team Leader to oversee day-to-day front desk operations and support the delivery of outstanding guest experiences. The role leads and supports the Front Office team so that arrivals, departures and in-house guest journeys run smoothly, while also training, developing and coaching the team. It is a step up in career, with the chance to move into duty management shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily front desk operations, including check-in, check-out and guest services
• Lead, support and motivate Front Office team members during shifts
• Ensure prompt, friendly and efficient service and handle guest enquiries, feedback and issues professionally
• Maintain smooth communication between Front Office and other resort departments
• Drive training, development and coaching to strengthen team capability
• Ensure accurate use of property management systems such as Opera Cloud
• Drive a positive, welcoming and professional front office environment

Required profile

• Previous front office or guest services experience in a hotel or resort
• Experience leading or supervising a team, or strong readiness to step up
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay calm, organised and solution-focused in a busy environment
• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings and public holidays

Required skills

• Comfortable using hotel systems; Opera Cloud experience highly regarded
• Strong focus on guest experience and service excellence
