Financial Controller – Melbourne

About the role

This is a senior finance leadership position within a dynamic Melbourne‑based property group. Reporting to a part‑time CFO, you will head the operational finance function, supporting decision‑making across multiple entities and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day finance team (2 professionals) and ensure accurate management reporting to directors and committees.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow reporting and financial modelling.
• Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, covenant compliance and lender reporting.
• Support project and development finance, including feasibility modelling and drawdowns.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, audit, tax and compliance obligations.
• Strengthen financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders across finance, development, banking and advisory functions.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, preferably in property development, funds management or construction finance.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven ability to manage debt facilities and lender reporting.
• Strong financial modelling capability and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience managing a small finance team and delivering to senior stakeholders.
