About the role
The Financial Controller will safeguard the financial health of Campbell Property Group and partner with senior executives to enable data‑driven decisions. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will lead statutory and management reporting, risk management, and internal controls for a multi‑entity property development business.
Key responsibilities
- Own the accuracy and timeliness of all statutory and management reporting.
- Review monthly, half‑yearly and year‑end financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and IFRS.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations to ASIC, ATO and APRAC.
- Coordinate external audit and tax engagements; act as primary contact for auditors and tax advisors.
- Design, implement and monitor internal financial controls and group accounting policies.
- Maintain compliance with GST, PAYG, payroll tax and income tax provisions.
- Identify and mitigate financial risk across the business.
- Support board and audit risk committee reporting.
- Manage month‑end close timetable, balance‑sheet reconciliations, cost‑centre analysis, journal reviews, accruals, provisions and multi‑entity consolidations.
- Lead, coach and develop the finance team, setting performance expectations and fostering a high‑performance culture.
Required profile
- Extensive senior financial accounting experience, preferably within a property or construction organisation, or senior audit/tax background.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Proven experience in a compliance‑focused environment with strong corporate governance.
- Demonstrated ability to advise executive and board level stakeholders.
- In‑depth knowledge of statutory, tax and regulatory obligations in Australia.
- Ethical, trustworthy and high professional integrity.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with financial consolidations, trusts and corporate structuring.
- Proficiency with ERP/finance systems and complex multi‑entity reporting.
- Strong understanding of AASB, IFRS, ASIC, ATO and APRAC reporting requirements.
