Financial Controller

About the role

Meir is seeking a Financial Controller to support its rapid growth and ensure robust financial management. The role combines traditional accounting duties with strategic partnership to senior leadership, driving accurate reporting, compliance and insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, monitor performance against targets and identify risks and opportunities.
• Produce management reports, board packs and detailed financial analysis for decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with AASB standards, taxation requirements and statutory obligations, including BAS, GST, PAYG and payroll tax.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure legislative compliance.
• Manage and optimise finance systems, driving automation and data integrity.
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to executives and department heads, and develop the finance team through coaching and performance feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of AASB, Australian taxation law and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting cycles.
• Experience overseeing payroll and managing finance systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
