Financial Controller – Global Finance Lead

About the role

Alchimie is seeking a Financial Controller to join its expanding global team. Based in Melbourne with a hybrid work model, you will support finance operations across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, helping the business scale while maintaining strong financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial insight and strategic challenge to the Global Leadership Team.
• Lead end‑to‑end finance operations (reporting, compliance, tax, audit, cash‑flow) across ANZ, Canada and the UK.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and board‑level reporting.
• Streamline internal systems and processes to maximise profitability.
• Identify and mitigate commercial, financial and governance risks.
• Develop and deliver key financial cycles aligned with the Business Plan.
• Build and manage a finance and accounting team, including external accountants, auditors and banks.
• Oversee payroll to ensure accurate and timely payments.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with 5‑7 years of experience in a similar finance role.
• Strong technical accounting expertise in financial reporting, compliance and governance.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in building scalable finance processes.
• Experience in a consultancy‑type environment is highly regarded.
• International experience preferred.
• Familiarity with XERO accounting software is desirable.
