Financial Accountant (Fixed-Term, 14 Months)

About the role

ING is hiring a Financial Accountant for a 14-month fixed-term contract in its Finance team in Sydney. Reporting to the Manager, External Reporting, you will help deliver accurate financial, regulatory and statutory reporting and support automation and reporting transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver Head Office, statutory and regulatory reporting, including APRA submissions, in line with accounting standards and group requirements.
• Support financial statement preparation, Board reporting and external audit requirements.
• Analyse financial and reporting data to identify insights, reporting issues and opportunities for control enhancement.
• Drive reporting transformation, automation and process improvement initiatives using SQL, Power BI and Power Query.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Technology and external auditors.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
• 3-5 years of experience in banking, financial services or a Big 4 accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, regulatory reporting and accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills with experience analysing large and complex data sets.
• Proficiency in SQL, Power Query and Power BI is highly regarded.
