Financial Accountant – 3‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a 3‑month contract. Based in Launceston, you will support day‑to‑day accounting, reporting and stakeholder engagement, helping the organisation make informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post accruals, journals and reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and period‑end close processes.
• Maintain fixed‑asset and general‑ledger records.
• Assist with financial reporting, including monthly and annual deliverables.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling activities.
• Provide assistance across accounts payable/receivable and broader finance operations as needed.
• Partner with stakeholders to conduct cost analysis and support decision‑making.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards it (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and core finance processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with MYOB and/or TechnologyOne accounting systems.
