Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will work within an ERP environment under the direction of an Accountant, handling high‑volume, standardized accounts processing. This role supports the financial operations of remote First Nations communities while providing excellent customer‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end electronic accounts receivable and accounts payable for the assigned business area.
• Perform transactional cash management, including regular bank reconciliations.
• Drive active debtor management through telephone contact, written communication, and internal reporting.
• Compile data for timely monthly and quarterly BAS & PAYG submissions.
• Assist internal and external stakeholders with finance queries, troubleshooting, and system familiarisation.
• Participate in telephone overflow roster and provide reception relief.
• Contribute proactive ideas to improve internal financial systems and processes.

Required profile

• Highly analytical and detail‑oriented finance professional.
• Proven experience in electronic accounting, finance, or data processing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to adapt communication across cultures.
• Experience living or working in the Northern Territory is advantageous.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred)
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate proficiency)
• Experience with ERP systems and electronic accounts processing software
