Finance Manager

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting, on behalf of a global organisation, a Finance Manager for its established finance team in Sydney CBD. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the role combines financial reporting, technical accounting and team leadership. It involves overseeing core financial operations, working closely with key stakeholders and contributing to improvements across finance processes. The position is permanent, with three days in the office and a package of $160,000-$170,000 plus bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, reconciliations and journal entries so that reporting is accurate and on time.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Analyse actual results against forecasts to provide insight into financial performance.
• Prepare financial statements and support statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of two finance professionals.
• Contribute to finance process improvement and transformation initiatives, and support business changes to financial reporting processes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders on reporting and business priorities.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 6+ years' experience in financial accounting, reporting or audit, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier background.
• Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver accurate financial reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and team development.

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing financial reports.
• Experience with an ERP system and advanced Excel skills.
