Facilities Officer

About the role

Vinnies Housing, part of St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, is looking for a Facilities Officer to report to the Asset Manager. The role oversees the operation, maintenance and compliance of essential building services across the medium- and high-density residential portfolio. It is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week) based in Ipswich.

Key responsibilities

• Manage essential building services including fire systems, lifts, HVAC, security systems and other shared infrastructure
• Coordinate planned preventative maintenance programs and service contracts
• Monitor contractor performance for quality, safety, compliance and value for money
• Inspect sites to ensure common areas are safe, functional and well maintained
• Manage defect rectification and warranty works for new buildings
• Support procurement and tender processes for facilities service contracts
• Maintain accurate facilities records and report on contractor performance, service delivery and compliance
• Identify operational risks and recommend building improvements or capital upgrades

Required profile

• 3-5 years' experience in Facilities Management, Building Services or Housing Asset Management
• Sound knowledge of building compliance, WHS and essential services such as fire, HVAC, lifts and security systems
• Experience managing contractors and service providers
• Current Queensland C Class driver licence
• Appropriate visa to work in Australia/New Zealand
• Desirable: a qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Property or a related discipline, experience in social or community housing, and knowledge of the National Regulatory System for Community Housing and Queensland Social Housing Program Specifications
