About the role
Kmart Digital is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the squads building and managing our Digital Marketplace. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on building high‑performing teams, developing engineering capability and delivering reliable, scalable customer‑facing platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Architects and peer Engineering Managers to align priorities and delivery outcomes.
- Drive engineering best practices across development, testing, operational support and continuous delivery.
- Participate in technical discussions, solution design and architectural decisions for highly integrated digital systems.
- Support incident management, operational resilience and reliability of customer‑facing systems.
- Collaborate across a distributed team model with colleagues in Melbourne and Bengaluru.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams in complex technology environments.
- Strong technical background with ability to engage in architectural discussions.
- Experience delivering customer‑facing digital products or highly integrated enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated success building, mentoring and developing high‑performing engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to align Product, Engineering and Delivery functions.
