About the role
The Employee Relations Representative will monitor daily work practices on a field construction project, advise supervisors of any observed or anticipated labour issues, and support the development of staffing plans, wage trend studies, and craft training programmes. This role contributes to positive workplace relationships by facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with relevant labour laws. The position operates on a 2:1 FIFO roster to Cloncurry, QLD.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily work practices on the project site and report potential labour problems.
- Assist in the preparation of staffing plans and wage trend analyses.
- Develop and present craft training and orientation programmes.
- Facilitate communication between workforce and management to promote positive workplace relations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour legislation and project safety, health, and environmental requirements.
- Contribute to the development of workforce services strategies and industrial‑employee relations systems.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of labour laws and industrial relations practices.
- Ability to monitor and assess work practices on a construction site.
- Experience supporting staffing and training initiatives.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with supervisors and workforce.
- Commitment to adhering to project safety, health and environmental policies.
