Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

A boutique engineering consultancy with a portfolio of residential, health and education projects is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer in Sydney. The engineer steps straight into live projects, working with the wider engineering team to keep them on track during a busy period, producing coordinated designs from detailed design through to documentation. The position is advertised as a contract with a genuine pathway to a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct maximum demand calculations, cable sizing and lighting calculations for residential, health and education projects
• Prepare detailed design documentation for power, lighting and communications systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines
• Liaise with clients, architects and builders
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and regulations
• Attend site inspections as required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience in building services, ideally across residential, health or education projects
• Excellent communication skills and availability to start immediately

Required skills

• Proficiency in AGi32, AutoCAD and Bluebeam
