EL1 Specialist Advisor – Employment Suitability & Workforce Integrity

About the role

The Federal Government is seeking an EL1 Specialist Advisor to lead employment suitability and workforce integrity initiatives. This senior HR position will shape policies, assess complex cases, and support risk‑based workforce decisions across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement modern employment suitability frameworks from recruitment to exit.
• Provide expert advice on workforce integrity, personnel security and suitability matters.
• Assess complex suitability cases and deliver risk‑based recommendations to senior leaders.
• Strengthen pre‑employment screening and ongoing workforce monitoring processes.
• Create policies, procedures and guidance to support organisational integrity and governance.
• Collaborate with People & Culture, Risk, Legal, Audit, Fraud and Cyber teams.
• Prepare high‑quality briefings, reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Lead complex projects and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar HR role, preferably within the public sector.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills for handling sensitive, complex information.
• Proven ability to develop frameworks, policies, governance processes or assessment methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
• Demonstrated capacity to navigate complex environments and provide clear, evidence‑based advice.
• Experience in government or highly regulated settings is highly regarded.
