Director, Head of Equity and Derivatives Trading Technology

About the role

The Equity and Derivatives Trading Technology team builds the platforms and services that power trading, pricing, market connectivity, risk management and client-facing capabilities across the group's global business. This role leads the global technology organisation supporting Equity and Derivatives Trading, with accountability for strategy, architecture, engineering, delivery and production support. It works closely with trading, sales and business leaders across APAC, EMEA and the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the global technology organisation for Equity and Derivatives Trading, covering strategy, architecture, engineering, delivery and production support.
• Partner with senior business and technology leaders across APAC, EMEA and the Americas to set investment priorities, accelerate product innovation and deliver technology that supports growth and new market opportunities.
• Lead the modernisation of trading platforms and strengthen engineering and operational excellence.
• Ensure the resilience, performance and controls expected in a global front-office trading environment.
• Drive the practical adoption of AI, automation and data-driven capabilities to improve engineering productivity, trading outcomes and client experience.
• Build an inclusive, high-performing culture and develop future leaders.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in equities trading technology, with deep expertise across equity derivatives, synthetics and prime services, and a strong understanding of the associated front-office workflows, products and risk frameworks.
• Experience leading large, geographically distributed technology organisations across APAC, EMEA and/or the Americas, spanning engineering, architecture, delivery and production support in high-availability, market-facing environments.
• Proven success modernising complex technology platforms and delivering large-scale transformation while maintaining operational resilience and service continuity.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience partnering with senior business leaders across multiple regions and markets.
• Demonstrated success leading technology organisations with global accountability and engagement with stakeholders and business partners across international markets.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of equity derivatives trading technology, including pre-trade analytics, pricing, execution, market connectivity, electronic trading platforms and real-time risk management systems.
