Customer Service Attendant – On‑Train (Rockhampton)

About the role

As a Customer Service Attendant on Queensland Rail’s Spirit of Queensland and Rockhampton Tilt Train, you will deliver world‑class service to passengers during long‑haul journeys, typically away from home for up to 48 hours at a time.

Key responsibilities

• Create a memorable onboard customer experience.
• Provide food and beverage service, including servery/café duties and trolley service.
• Manage storage, preparation and heating of food and beverage items while maintaining hygiene standards.
• Perform general cleaning duties and uphold food safety standards.
• Ensure passenger safety by reporting operational issues.
• Process payments via cash and EFTPOS.
• Carry out platform duties such as handling checked baggage, assisting with enquiries and cleaning station areas.

Required profile

• Previous face‑to‑face customer service experience; tourism, transport or hospitality background is advantageous.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, safety‑focused mindset and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Capability to lift occasional loads up to 20 kg.
• Must obtain Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Safety certificates before start date.

Required skills
