Construction Worker – Parks & Gardens

About the role

Join the Snowy Monaro Regional Council as a Construction Worker focused on parks and gardens. You will help maintain and construct roads, parks, gardens and sports grounds, ensuring they remain safe, attractive and sustainable for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned plant and vehicles, including line markers, hoists, elevated work platforms, trucks, tractors, mowers, slashers, edgers and brush cutters.
• Carry out labour duties for the construction and maintenance of roads, parks, gardens and roadside areas in line with Council standards.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and servicing of plant to keep equipment at a high operational standard.
• Deliver traffic control at worksites as directed and follow written and oral instructions.
• Promote safety by using appropriate safety equipment and complying with WHS and Council procedures.

Required profile

• Valid NSW MR unrestricted driver’s licence.
• NSW WHS Construction Induction (White Card).
• Ability to work under supervision and follow Council’s Code of Conduct and WHS procedures.
• Willingness to participate in toolbox talks and manually lift according to WHS guidelines.

Required skills

• Operation of plant such as line markers, hoists, elevated work platforms, trucks, tractors, mowers, slashers, edgers and brush cutters.
• Basic traffic control knowledge and ability to obtain Traffic Control tickets.
• Understanding of plant maintenance and servicing.

• Salary range $62,068 – $68,512 per year plus 12% superannuation.
