Conference Sales & Events Manager

About the role

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Conference Sales & Events Manager for Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. In this full‑time position you will lead the Events Team, drive sales, and ensure the successful delivery of conferences, functions and other events.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify event proposals and align them with availability and marketing strategy.
• Identify peak periods and develop promotional ideas to improve event planning.
• Issue specials promptly and coordinate with vendors on all event‑related matters.
• Negotiate space contracts, arrange food & beverage, supplies, AV equipment and décor to meet Minor Hotels standards.
• Promote restaurant, events and conferencing facilities according to the annual marketing plan.
• Troubleshoot client issues before, during and after events.
• Prepare budgets, generate reports and assist with sales activities such as upselling and site inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conference and events management and sales.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Understanding of project‑management concepts (scheduling, cost and time management).
• Highly driven, creative self‑starter with natural problem‑solving skills.
• Confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
