Common Area Cleaner

About the role

The Common Area Cleaner will join the housekeeping team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, part of Minor Hotels. This full‑time position focuses on keeping all shared guest spaces clean, hygienic and visually appealing, supporting the resort’s high standards of guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all common guest areas, including lobbies, corridors, lounges and outdoor spaces.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules and meet operational targets in collaboration with team members.
• Use specialised cleaning equipment and products safely, adhering to safety and environmental protocols.
• Handle heavy lifting, bin collection and movement of bulky items as required.
• Build professional relationships with colleagues and guests to foster a respectful work environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel or resort setting is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive bending, lifting and standing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Safe operation of specialised cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and environmental safety practices.
