Coal Technician – Onsite Laboratories (QLD)

About the role

We are seeking dedicated Coal Technicians to join our onsite laboratories in Queensland, working at the German Creek and Foxleigh sites. This full‑time position offers the chance to learn coal sampling and testing with comprehensive training, even if you have no prior experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coal sampling and analysis following established procedures, including recording, preparation, storage and reporting.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of preparation equipment and learn equipment operation.
• Adhere to analytical methods, SGS Quality Systems and safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
• Work on a rotating 7/7 days‑and‑nights shift roster.

Required profile

• Experience in a semi‑manual or industrial environment is desirable.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Flexible, reliable team player with strong communication abilities.
• Customer‑focused with the ability to work autonomously in remote locations.
• Open manual Australian driver’s licence preferred.
