Casual Venues Officer - Aquatic and Leisure Centres

About the role

Cumberland City Council's Assets, Capital and Facilities unit, part of the City Services directorate, manages five owned and four operated Aquatic and Leisure Centre facilities. The Venues Officer supports the Coordinator of the Centres (Holroyd or Granville) with day-to-day housekeeping, room setup and customer service. This is a casual position mainly to help with the lead-up to the busy Christmas period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day housekeeping and room setup at the Centres
• Deliver customer service
• Work various shifts between 5:00am and 11:00pm, Monday to Sunday when required; hours are usually rostered within business hours but occasional night shifts and weekend work are needed
• Occasional travel across Council work sites, possibly across any of Council's work locations

Required profile

• Relevant hospitality experience
• Ability to work in a team and to work independently
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification
• Right to live and work in Australia
• Able to provide information for pre-employment checks, including a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
• Willingness to participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment and Council's Health Monitoring Procedure

Required skills

• Sound computer and office administration skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to carry three plates at meal service

• Salary of $30.60 to $37.48 per hour (including casual loading) at Grade 2 of the Cumberland Salary Structure, plus 12% superannuation; weekend penalty rates apply
