Casual Registered Nurse (School Health Centre)

About the role

Pedare is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to work on a casual basis within its Health Centre during school terms. The role involves providing comprehensive health care to students from Reception to Year 12, with a special focus on paediatric and adolescent health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first aid, triage, and health assessments for students.
• Administer medication supplied by parents/guardians.
• Maintain accurate records for chronic conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, and epilepsy.
• Support students on school camps and excursions, providing health care in outdoor and remote settings.
• Liaise with parents, teachers, and executive staff regarding student health needs.
• Provide administrative support and promote the college’s values in collaboration with other staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualified and registered to practice in South Australia.
• Experience in paediatric and adolescent health care, including chronic illness management, sports injuries, wound care, and mental health.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and a warm, approachable manner.

Required skills

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• First aid training.
• Competence in diabetes, anaphylaxis, and asthma response.
