Business Manager – Rail Division

About the role

The Business Manager provides strategic leadership and assurance for the Rail Division’s business management functions. You will drive innovative, efficient processes, systems and reporting to support delivery, accountability and service excellence across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of priority divisional business activities, ensuring high‑quality advice and analysis for the Executive Leadership Team.
• Provide authoritative guidance to senior directors on governance, performance, risk and operational improvement.
• Develop, implement and report on the Rail Division business plan, performance measures and executive reporting.
• Manage initiatives to automate and modernise business systems, reporting tools and processes across procurement, HR, finance and correspondence.
• Lead change‑management efforts, fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to embed sustainable improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex business‑management activities and delivering strategic advice aligned with government and organisational priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging technology and data analytics for business improvement.
