Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy

About the role

Samsung C&T’s Engineering & Construction Group is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Australian renewable energy market. Based in Melbourne, you will expand the project pipeline, secure expressions of interest and strengthen the company’s market presence across renewables, BESS and gas power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Grow SCT’s project pipeline and obtain EOIs to increase market presence in Australia.
• Develop and execute annual and long‑term business development plans for sectors such as renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and gas power generation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, industrial partners, government agencies and other external stakeholders.
• Identify new clients and suitable joint‑venture partners for future opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and movements to capture relevant opportunities for the Australian office.
• Report key market and industrial trends to internal teams and adjust the business development strategy accordingly.
• Design stakeholder engagement plans for existing and potential partners within each industry sector.
• Represent SCT at industry events, delivering key messages to clients and partners.
• Lead the Expression of Interest (EOI) process in collaboration with the Australia office, headquarters and other internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in the Australian renewable energy market, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
• Technical knowledge in electrical engineering is preferred.
• Self‑driven, strategic and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong collaboration skills within a multi‑disciplinary organisation.
• Proven leadership and presentation abilities.
