Breeding Agronomist

About the role
As a Breeding Agronomist at BASF, you will conduct field trials and plant‑breeding experiments that support our world‑class agricultural portfolio. You will plan, execute and manage trial sites, collect data and liaise with internal colleagues to deliver high‑quality results.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain field trials to generate data and seed.
- Maintain breeding records and update the breeding database with trial outcomes.
- Locate and contract land, prepare sites and manage all in‑season agronomy activities.
- Follow trial protocols, implement treatments, harvest trials and ship seed.
- Collaborate with breeders on experiments and seed production in growth chambers.
- Manage supply of key inputs such as land, pollinators, contractors and materials.
- Ensure operations are on time, within budget and meet safety, regulatory and compliance standards.
Required profile
- Degree in Agricultural Science or a related discipline.
- 2‑10 years of experience conducting field trials.
- Experience operating trial equipment or farm machinery.
- Strong knowledge of canola agronomy.
- Detail‑oriented with a balance of planning and hands‑on execution.
