Associate Professor in Biochemical Pharmacology

About the role

The School of Health is seeking an Associate Professor in Biochemical Pharmacology to join its Biomedical Science team. This full‑time, ongoing appointment will involve teaching, research leadership and partnership development across its Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑impact research programme, secure competitive funding and mentor emerging researchers.
• Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in biochemistry, medical biochemistry and advanced pharmacology.
• Supervise Higher Degree by Research candidates and contribute to curriculum innovation.
• Build and maintain collaborations with industry, community and academic partners.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture within the School and the wider University.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline with extensive academic leadership experience.
• Demonstrated record of research excellence, external recognition and successful grant acquisition.
• Proven ability to supervise HDR candidates and mentor junior staff.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching and continuous improvement of learning experiences.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences and collaborative partnership building.
