Assistant Director of Pharmacy

About the role

Lead and manage clinical pharmacy, dispensary and distribution services at Rockhampton Hospital, ensuring high‑quality patient care and operational excellence across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and direct line management to pharmacists, interns, pharmacy assistants, administration officers and operational staff.
• Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services while supporting medication safety, quality improvement, KPI performance and accreditation compliance.
• Oversee pharmacy services across regional and specialist facilities and advise senior management on service improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Drive workforce development through staff supervision, competency training, performance reviews and change management.
• Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures and protocols.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with AHPRA (or eligible for registration) and a tertiary pharmacy qualification.
• Post‑graduate qualification in pharmacy practice or management is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in hospital pharmacy management and leading a medium‑sized pharmacy team.
• Strong knowledge of legislative and professional requirements governing pharmacy practice.
