About the role
We are a boutique accounting, tax and business services firm based in Abbotsford. We are looking for a motivated accountant to join our close‑knit team and support a diverse client base.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Complete company, trust, partnership, superannuation and individual tax returns.
- Meet with clients to discuss financial needs and resolve queries.
- Assist in setting up business structures and preparing Business Activity Statements, IAS, payroll tax, SGC and workers compensation reconciliations.
- Develop detailed working papers to support financial reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues on various projects and assist with FBT returns.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Enjoy problem‑solving complex taxation issues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development (at least 40 hours per year).
Required skills
- Proficiency in Xero.
- Proficiency in MYOB.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in AO (Accounting Office).
