Accountant – Tax & Business Services

About the role

We are a boutique accounting, tax and business services firm based in Abbotsford. We are looking for a motivated accountant to join our close‑knit team and support a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Complete company, trust, partnership, superannuation and individual tax returns.
• Meet with clients to discuss financial needs and resolve queries.
• Assist in setting up business structures and preparing Business Activity Statements, IAS, payroll tax, SGC and workers compensation reconciliations.
• Develop detailed working papers to support financial reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues on various projects and assist with FBT returns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Enjoy problem‑solving complex taxation issues.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development (at least 40 hours per year).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero.
• Proficiency in MYOB.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Proficiency in AO (Accounting Office).
