Workplace Trainer & Assessor - Beef

About the role

JBS Australia is looking for an energetic Workplace Trainer & Assessor to join its Brooklyn Training & Development team. Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, the role supports employee capability, training compliance and workforce development across the site. You will deliver training, conduct competency assessments, coordinate training activities and maintain training records in line with business and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver structured workplace training, inductions and refresher programs across the site
• Conduct competency-based assessments and verify employee skills and knowledge
• Support employees through on-the-job coaching and skills development
• Maintain accurate training records and employee competency documentation
• Manage training data and compliance requirements in the Learning Management System
• Monitor training matrices and identify gaps in employee competencies and compliance
• Help develop, review and improve training materials, work instructions, task descriptions and assessment tools
• Support internal and external audits by keeping training documentation current and audit-ready
• Work with operational leaders to identify training needs and capability requirements

Required profile

• Experience delivering workplace training and conducting competency assessments
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies
• Excellent communication and coaching skills
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to build working relationships across operations and support functions
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) highly desirable
• Experience in manufacturing, food processing, FMCG or industrial environments highly regarded

Required skills

• Experience maintaining training records and using Learning Management Systems
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of training compliance requirements and workforce capability frameworks is advantageous
