Transportation Specialist – Transportation Operations Management (Day Shift)

About the role

Join Amazon Transportation Services at the Craigieburn Sort Centre as a Transportation Specialist. You will play a critical part in ensuring smooth yard operations, coordinating trailer movements, and supporting Amazon’s broader transportation network.

Key responsibilities

• Create and send a daily End of Shift report detailing load arrivals, departures, and any delay reasons.
• Communicate with the Outbound dock team and Network Operations Center to explain delays and coordinate actions.
• Coordinate with multiple carriers on site escalations, pickups, deliveries, and weather‑related disruptions.
• Develop and communicate daily load plans to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor fulfillment centre operations, transportation peers, and carriers to ensure on‑time trailer movements.
• Consolidate data from various sources to produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports, identifying data integrity issues and patterns.
• Engage yard and delivery drivers to maintain organization, safety, and minimize delays.
• Utilise internal systems such as SSP, FMC, and YMS for data gathering and reporting.
• Adhere to safety policies, company regulations, and local compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Flexibility to work day and night shifts as needed.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with dock teams, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse data from multiple sources and generate clear reports.
• Commitment to safety and compliance in a fast‑paced yard environment.
• Willingness to work onsite 38 hours per week with overtime when required.

Required skills

• Experience with Amazon’s Sortation Platform (SSP).
• Familiarity with the Freight Management Console (FMC).
• Proficiency in using the Yard Management System (YMS).
