Technical Director

About the role

The Technical Director will join Aurecon's Ground and Underground Engineering team in Sydney, leading the delivery of complex infrastructure projects from concept through design and construction. This senior position shapes technical strategy, drives innovation, and ensures sustainability is embedded in every solution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, design and implementation of complex engineering solutions for client projects.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, sustainable outcomes across the project lifecycle.
• Act as a role model for inclusive leadership and align decisions with Aurecon’s Blueprint and diversity values.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical deliverables.
• Mentor and develop technical talent within the team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in ground and underground engineering or related infrastructure disciplines.
• Proven track record of leading large, technically complex projects.
• Strong commitment to sustainability, innovation and inclusive workplace culture.
• Ability to influence and inspire senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Leadership and strategic decision‑making in engineering contexts.
• Deep technical knowledge of infrastructure design and construction processes.
