Systems Administrator (Secure Networks)

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the secure, defence‑accredited network for the MQ‑28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft project. Based in Brisbane, you will work on a multi‑tenanted, geographically dispersed environment that requires high‑assurance security and close collaboration with solution architects, network and cyber specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Administer compute, storage, networking, client delivery services and infrastructure applications across Windows and Linux platforms.
• Provide technical design reviews and subject‑matter expertise for key technology components.
• Resolve problems, deliver technical support, and manage user administration.
• Monitor system performance, support capacity planning, and implement backup and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Perform occasional ad‑hoc tasks outside core business hours, such as system upgrades.
• Travel to other Australian Boeing sites (e.g., Amberley, Woomera) as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing and administering complex, security‑focused, high‑assurance systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Storage administration experience with hypervisors (Fibre Channel, Pure Storage, VMware).
• Knowledge of Identity Management, Multi‑Factor Authentication, and Group Policy (Active Directory, Federation Services, RSA).
• Experience designing and delivering Citrix XenApp, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) and Citrix Gateway solutions.
• Systematic, logical problem‑solving ability and clear documentation skills.
• Australian driver’s licence and ability to obtain an NV2 security clearance.
