Systems Administrator – Internal IT

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position supports the internal IT environment of a leading property and facilities services company in Sydney CBD. You will work within a collaborative, non‑hierarchical team to manage day‑to‑day operations and deliver infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory/Entra ID and hybrid Exchange.
• Administer the Microsoft 365 tenancy and support end‑users.
• Maintain and update network devices such as firewalls and switches (Layer 2).
• Deploy patching, firmware and security updates across the infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls and tooling.
• Assist with private cloud (VMware) administration.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve technical issues.
• Support escalated IT queries and contribute to project delivery (upgrades, migrations, deployments).

Required profile

• Proven experience as a System Administrator in Microsoft‑centric environments.
• Competent Microsoft 365 administration and support.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 networking, firewalls and switches.
• Strong logical troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team‑player attitude with a willingness to share knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex concepts.
• Attention to detail and a patient, methodical approach.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Sydney.
