Senior Water Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Water Engineer to lead the design and delivery of innovative water, wastewater and recycled‑water treatment solutions for a range of industrial, resource, utility and defence projects. You will join a multidisciplinary team at Aurecon, applying technical expertise to create sustainable infrastructure that supports communities and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept, detailed and construction‑phase design of complex water treatment and distribution projects.
• Develop and coordinate piping systems, pump stations, water balance models and hydraulics calculations.
• Produce civil designs including earthworks, concrete structures, access roads and drainage.
• Prepare detailed drawings, 3‑D models and specifications using industry‑standard software.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical, process and electrical disciplines to ensure integrated, constructible designs.
• Support business development activities, client engagement and tender preparation.
• Generate reports, presentations and documentation to communicate engineering concepts.

Required profile

• Qualified engineer with several years of experience in water, wastewater or recycled‑water projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong communication skills and experience in client interaction and business development.
