Senior Review Officer

About the role

The Senior Review Officer will be appointed by the Chief Executive as a Government Assessor to make evidence‑based decisions that provide financial assistance to victims of crime. This senior position plays a key role in shaping operational policy and ensuring high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake complex, evidence‑based decision making in line with the relevant Act and legislative intent.
• Manage cases for financial assistance, ensuring accurate records, meeting objectives and adhering to legislated timeframes.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve operational policy and procedures.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external non‑government stakeholders.
• Provide comprehensive analysis and advice to the Executive Manager, Policy and Projects on policy and legislative matters.
• Conduct research on victims of crime and keep up‑to‑date knowledge of the Act and related legislation.
• Represent the agency at Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) hearings.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in evidence‑based decision making and case management within a legislative framework.
• Strong analytical abilities and a track record of influencing policy development.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across government and non‑government sectors.
• In‑depth knowledge of victim assistance legislation and related legal processes.
