Senior Process Engineer – Industrial (Brisbane)

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead industrial process engineering work on energy and resources projects in Brisbane. You will provide expert technical guidance, ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process design, safety assessments and risk management for complex resources and energy projects.
• Oversee delivery of process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, specifications and process safety documentation.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Support project phases from concept selection, feasibility and FEED through detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Drive continuous improvement, adopt best‑practice engineering standards and digital engineering tools.
• Build strong client relationships and advise on technical and contractual matters.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Process or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional membership (Engineers Australia, iChemE, RPEQ) preferred.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience across hydrocarbons, power, resources and green‑energy projects.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver multidisciplinary work across all project phases.
• Commitment to safe, sustainable, compliant and practical engineering outcomes.

Required skills

• Process modelling (HYSYS, UniSim, fluid flow analysis).
• Equipment sizing and technical problem‑solving.
• Development of PFDs, P&IDs, calculations and specifications.
• Process safety documentation and risk management.
• Use of digital engineering tools for design and analysis.
