Senior Chemist - Malaga

About the role

Bureau Veritas, a global leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification, is hiring a Senior Chemist in Malaga. The role supports the analysis of mineral samples in a high-volume laboratory, working alongside an experienced team on quality oversight, method performance review and accurate results. Key responsibilities

• Perform classical and instrumental analysis
• Review and maintain equipment performance checks, coordinate external maintenance and conduct equipment calibration
• Prepare working standard solutions for ICP and AAS
• Review method adequacy and alignment with industry standards
• Maintain training records and programmes, and prepare Quality Assurance reports
• Assist with investigations of quality incidents
• Follow safety, quality and laboratory compliance requirements and support daily lab operations

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry
• Previous laboratory experience, ideally in minerals, mining or a related industry
• Strong attention to detail and ability to develop new methods to client needs
• Reliable, team-focused and able to manage competing priorities

Required skills

• Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9001)
• Advanced knowledge of ICP operation, optimisation and troubleshooting
