Security Engineer, Threat Intelligence

About the role

Snap is looking for a Security Engineer focused on Threat Intelligence to join its Detection and Response team in Sydney. In this role you will track sophisticated threat actors, develop innovative security solutions, and work closely with global teams in the US and Switzerland to keep Snap’s platforms secure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyze and develop intelligence on emerging adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) across APT and cyber‑crime ecosystems.
• Proactively track, model and monitor threat actors and campaigns that could impact Snap.
• Research and create new detection and response capabilities, building tools and automations for threat hunting and incident response.
• Leverage AI and automation to build scalable intelligence and response systems.
• Design, pilot and implement logging and alerting solutions for endpoints, infrastructure, networks and cloud environments.
• Lead incident‑response efforts, coordinating with multiple Snap teams to investigate and mitigate threats.
• Partner with global stakeholders to continuously improve detection, intelligence and response capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in threat intelligence, detection engineering or related security engineering roles.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex threat data into actionable security measures.
• Experience collaborating with distributed, cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a focus on privacy and data protection.
