Security DevSecOps Capability Lead

About the role

The Security DevSecOps Capability Lead will support the delivery and operation of trusted digital systems for a nationally significant submarine capability. You will design, implement and sustain high‑assurance software delivery practices across complex software and data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist DevSecOps expertise to design, establish and mature secure, reliable software delivery practices.
• Develop clear policies, processes and standard operating procedures for CI/CD environments.
• Advise on selection, deployment and configuration of DevSecOps toolchains and technology stacks.
• Design, build and maintain high‑assurance CI/CD pipelines supporting secure development, testing and deployment.
• Support cloud and on‑premises development sandbox environments and pre‑release testing, including automated regression testing.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps or DevSecOps specialist in complex technical environments.
• Proven ability to develop and document DevSecOps frameworks, policies and SOPs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills to translate technical and assurance requirements.
• Experience working in government, defence or other high‑assurance settings.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline design and operation.
• Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud platforms and secure integration of on‑premises environments.
• Experience with enterprise software such as PLM or CAD.
• Knowledge of information security controls and accreditation processes (ISM‑aligned).
