Research Nurse – Diabetes Studies (PANDORA & INSPIRE)

About the role

The Diabetes Across the LifeCourse partnership is seeking an experienced Research Nurse to support two important studies – PANDORA and INSPIRE – focused on diabetes in pregnancy and youth‑onset type 2 diabetes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Based in Alice Springs, you will act as the primary contact for participants and families, ensuring culturally responsive engagement and high‑quality clinical data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with study participants and their families, providing information and support throughout the research process.
• Conduct clinical assessments and administer health surveys for both studies.
• Maintain accurate participant records and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including health service providers, policy makers, and community organisations.
• Promote culturally safe practices and foster trust with First Nations communities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with proven experience in clinical research.
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to culturally responsive and ethical research practices.
