Rehabilitation Consultant - Occupational Therapist

About the role

IPAR, a national occupational rehabilitation provider within the MedHealth network, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join its Melbourne team as a Rehabilitation Consultant. The role sits in the occupational rehabilitation sector, helping people with injury, illness or disability achieve return to health and return to work outcomes. The team is described as tight-knit, collaborative and multidisciplinary.

Key responsibilities

• Manage caseloads with the support of Rehabilitation Assistants, who help with administrative tasks
• Help clients with injury or health conditions achieve return to health and return to work
• Liaise with employers, case managers, medical professionals and insurers to share clinical updates and align rehabilitation goals
• Work across schemes such as workers compensation, Compulsory Third Party, life insurance, Comcare and the Department of Veterans' Affairs
• Conduct comprehensive ADL assessments to evaluate functional abilities and support needs at home and in the community, and recommend equipment, home modifications or support services
• Prepare timely, high-quality reports with findings, recommendations and clinical reasoning

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Full professional registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is highly regarded but not essential
• Compassion, kindness and empathy
• Current driver's licence and access to a car with comprehensive insurance (a must)
