Registered Nurse – West Coast District Hospital

About the role

The Department of Health is recruiting qualified Registered Nurses to join the West Coast District Hospital team in Tasmania. You will deliver safe, high‑quality nursing care across a range of services, including sub‑acute care, palliative care, emergency response and aged‑care residential facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinically appropriate nursing care to patients and their families in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work across 9 sub‑acute care beds, a dedicated palliative suite, an Emergency First Response Unit and a 16‑bed aged‑care residential facility.
• Coordinate with visiting services such as radiology, diabetic clinic, physiotherapy and podiatry.
• Participate in shift work, covering up to 76 hours per fortnight, with flexible full‑time or part‑time arrangements.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Current registration to work with vulnerable people.
• Ability to meet the essential criteria outlined in the Statement of Duties.

• Salary range $80,524 – $109,175 per annum (pro‑rata) plus 12% superannuation.
