Registered Nurse – West Coast District Hospital

About the role

The Department of Health is hiring Registered Nurses to provide safe, high‑quality clinical care at West Coast District Hospital in Tasmania. You will work across a range of services including sub‑acute care, palliative care, emergency response, aged‑care residential facilities and allied health clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage nursing duties across 9 sub‑acute beds, a palliative suite, emergency first‑response unit and a 16‑bed aged‑care residence.
• Coordinate with visiting services such as radiology, diabetic clinic, physiotherapy and podiatry.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People registration.
• Ability to work shift patterns up to 76 hours per fortnight, including full‑time and part‑time options.
