Registered Nurse – Aged Care (Bundaberg)

About the role

Elderly Care Limited is looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in Bundaberg. You will provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to aged‑care residents, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in line with professional standards and clinical guidelines.
• Conduct clinical assessments, develop care plans and monitor patient progress.
• Administer medications, immunisations, wound care and high‑risk medicines while documenting outcomes.
• Collaborate with GPs, allied health professionals and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in chronic disease management, preventative health education and community health initiatives.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and mentor Enrolled Nurses, students and support staff.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Nursing.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Minimum 2 years of professional nursing experience, including geriatric assessments and medication management.
• Experience with complex geriatric presentations such as dementia, frailty, chronic disease, wounds and end‑of‑life care.
• Ability to respond to clinical deterioration, falls and emergency situations.

Required skills

• Medication administration (including Schedule 4 & 8, insulin, anticoagulants).
• Clinical assessment and risk evaluation (falls, pressure injuries, cognition, continence).
• Wound care and dressing management.
• First Aid and CPR.
