Registered Midwife - Postnatal

About the role

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital in Sydney, is recruiting a Registered Midwife for its Postnatal team. The position is permanent, full time and part time (minimum 24 hours per week), with pay of $41.22-$57.88 per hour plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

The hospital offers ongoing education and professional development, including in-service education, simulation-based training, clinical support from experienced educators and structured mentorship. Staff can upskill in venepuncture, cannulation, perineal suturing, postnatal education and newborn assessment. After-hours support comes from Postnatal Clinical Resource Midwives, and the Women & Babies service is supported by a Midwifery Unit Manager 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Required profile

• Current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Full working rights within Australia.
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster of 12-hour shifts.
• Understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking.
