Project Manager - Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead client‑side retail developments across Western Australia. Based in Perth, you will act as a trusted advisor to developers, landlords and asset owners, overseeing the full lifecycle of major retail builds, shopping centre expansions, refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Steer major retail builds, shopping centre expansions and mixed‑use retail precincts from feasibility through handover.
• Drive end‑to‑end development of external pad sites, coordinating services and site positioning.
• Lead procurement of design consultants and head contractors, preparing tender documents and managing contract execution.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, specialist consultants and contractors to maintain design integrity, schedule, cost and quality.
• Develop and track master project programmes, budgets, commercial reporting and risk registers, providing data‑driven advice to clients.
• Administer standard building contracts (e.g., AS4902/AS4000 series), handling variations, extensions of time, progress claims and handovers.
• Align delivery schedules with leasing milestones and coordinate landlord works with incoming tenants.
• Interface with local government, planning bodies and infrastructure authorities to secure service connections and approvals.

Required profile

• 5+ years of client‑side retail project management experience or managing retail centre construction projects.
• Proven track record across the full project lifecycle, including planning, design management and delivery.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills and confidence in leading stakeholder relationships.
• Commercially astute with the ability to balance design quality, operational performance and financial return.

Required skills

• Experience applying AS4902/AS4000 standard building contracts.
• Proficiency in developing project schedules, budgets and risk registers.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with external authorities.
