Principal Engineer - Modern Work

About the role

Versent is looking for a Principal Engineer - Modern Work in Melbourne to lead complex Microsoft 365 transformation programs that reshape how organisations work. This is a hands-on role combining deep Microsoft 365 expertise with architecture and delivery leadership, focused on large-scale tenant migrations, M&A integrations, divestitures and digital workplace transformations. You will work directly with customers to solve complex challenges across Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Entra ID, leading solutions from strategy and architecture through to migration, cutover and optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft 365 architecture, design and delivery.
• Drive large-scale tenant-to-tenant migrations, consolidations and separations.
• Design coexistence, cutover and migration strategies for complex M&A programs.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and customer engagements.
• Own solution quality, governance, security and delivery outcomes.
• Mentor consultants and engineers while helping shape the future of the Modern Work practice.

Required profile

• Strong Microsoft 365 consulting and architecture experience.
• Expertise across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Entra ID.
• Experience leading migration and transformation programs.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Hands-on technical capability combined with strategic thinking.
