Parks & Gardens Labourer – Outdoor Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Parks & Gardens Labourer to join the Vegetation Works Team at The Hills Shire Council. The role involves hands‑on maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves and sports fields, ensuring they remain clean, safe and welcoming for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain parks, sportsgrounds, open spaces and public amenities.
• Conduct daily checks on plant and equipment.
• Operate mowers, blowers, brush cutters, spray equipment and other machinery.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and assist with material deliveries.
• Apply chemicals safely in line with procedures.
• Support delivery of programs and activities and help improve council infrastructure.

Required profile

• Valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
• White Card – General Construction Induction.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a supportive team.

Required skills

• Operation of mowing and cutting equipment.
• Use of spray equipment and safe chemical handling.
• Basic maintenance of grounds‑keeping tools and machinery.

• Salary $66,794 – $69,932 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
